Notice: Vaginitis Panel Collection Medium

Effective 10/1/2021:
The vaginitis panel can only be performed using the Hologic Aptima Multitest and Unisex swab and the
BD Affirm swab.
DPMG will no longer perform the vaginitis panel using the liquid-based Pap vial (ThinPrep and/or SurePath).
Hologic, the manufacturer of the analyte specific reagents (ASR) used in DPMG’s laboratory developed test (LDT) for the detection of BVCV, will be discontinuing the production of the ASR in favor of their new, equally sensitive and specific FDA approved Aptima Bacterial Vaginosis, Candida and Trichomonas assays.
